J.J. Abrams production company is to develop recent Paramount acquisition Boilerplate - a graphic novel by Paul Guinan and Anina Bennett about the world's first robot who, in the late 19th and 20th century turns up Zelig in all manner of historically important events before disappearing in the trenches of the Great War.
The original graphic novel was something of a hybrid with the robot artfully and convincingly inserted into original period images.
Deadline hasn't offered up much more info on the project but let us know what you think. Do you know the book? If so do you think JJ and his people will do its uniqueness justice?
