Zoe Saldana Returns To South America For Columbiana

Actress in talks for Luc Besson drama Monday, May 17th 2010 | 18:13:37

The ubiquitous Zoe Saldana has a very good agent for securing her jobs in exotic locations - as she looks set to follow up the Puerto Rico filmed The Losers with another jaunt to the Southern hemisphere for Columbiana.

Now, if you're hoping for surprises when you see The Losers, you might want to look away now. *spoiler alert*

Avatar
and Star Trek starlet is currently working on cutting a deal to take the lead for French action fanatic Luc Besson's new drama, which will be directed by his amazingly-named old Transporter 3 mucker Olivier Megaton .

The movie - penned by Besson and his writing partner, and brand new The Karate Kid scribe Robert Mark Kamen - follows a woman who witnessed the murder of her parents in Bogota (aher, familiar much?) as she becomes a "stone cold assasin" moving through Latin America and the U.S. So far, so Aisha Spin-Off... The character works under her uncle as a gun-for-hire by day, but by night takes her destiny into her own hands by committing a series of vigilante culls in the hope of finding her parents' mob-boss killer.

So we're hoping that fellow Frenchie Losers director Sylvain White will be getting a cut of the profits from what seems to be a brand extension of his movie.

Filming of Columbiana kicks off late this summer.
