A far cry from your average fantasy film, the twistedly lewd trailer for Your Highness has finally graced us with it’s presence. With James Franco as a noble prince, Danny McBride as his goofy stoner brother (handle your S*** Fabious please!) and Natalie Portman as a kick-ass warrior, combined with the director of the Pineapple Express, it looks hilarious.
Probably not for the faint hearted the trailer is riddled with swearing and naughty jokes but hints at being one of the most quotable films of the year if the trailer is anything to go by. Written by McBride and Ben Best and directed by David Gordon Green the plot involves the two princes, one gallantly off to save his girl, the other forced into the quest by threats of banishment. Madness ensues and when they meet Portman’s warrior things get wackier still. We think its worth seeing just for Portman beating the hell out of McBride and the stoned puppet alone.
Zooey Deschanel plays the kidnapped damsel with Justin Theroux as the lecherous wizard with a dirty mind, Kudos to the writers for the sheer outlandishness of the story. With their over the top fantasy English accents and downright silliness it’s sure to brighten out summers with its June 24 release, and may even - if things go well - be able to boast two Oscar winners (Portman for Black Swan and Franco for 127 Hours (127 Hours)) among its cast which will be... well, odd!
