Will Smith is being circled for a remake of sci-fi film Fantastic Voyage according to The Hollywood Reporter. James Cameron and Jon Landau are producing and Shawn Levy, the director of Real Steel and Night at the Museum, is set to helm proceedings.

They will be meeting in the next couple of weeks, but Levy looks set to be moving on if a deal can't be struck with Smith or another big-name star. The story revolves around a group of scientists who are shrunk in order to pilot a submarine inside a sick scientist's body. The storyline has been used in an episode of The Mighty Boosh and also The Magic School Bus.

It's unknown how interested Smith is in the project, and the studio is said to be apprehensive about spending big bucks on a big-name star. Hugh Jackman was previously rumoured, but with The Wolverine coming up so soon, those rumours soon disappeared.
If this doesn't come off, Levy has Maleficent, Frankenstein and Sleeping Beauty as potential projects to work on.
