Trailer And Poster For Sofia Coppola's Somewhere
Coppola's next film, set in a hotel, reminds us more than a little of Lost in Translation

A trailer for Sofia Coppola's long-awaited follow up to Marie-Antoinette, Somewhere, has hit the web over at Apple and we're thinking that it seems strikingly similar in tone and theme to Lost in Translation....
The setting is Hollywood's legendary Chateau Marmont Hotel where fading A-list actor Johnny Marco (Stephen Dorff) is living his life in a blur of excess until his 11 year-old daughter (Elle Fanning) turns up to stay with him and their relationship brings out the human-being in him that had been almost totally eaten away by celebrity and its trappings.
It should not really come as a surprise to see Coppola treading ground she's walked before - remember that she'd been struggling with the script for Marie-Antoinette - in her take on the history, the story of a girl out of sorts - when the opportunity arose to make Lost in Translation - the story of a girl out of sorts. Here we have Dorff playing the washed-up movie star that Bill Murray played in Coppola's 2004 hit, ane he's still staying in an upscale hotel when a young girl saves him and reminds him what it is to be human.
Now we're all for artists telling the same story over and over, but is it just us who feels that this is getting a little bit ridiculous? Check out the trailer and let us know.
