Tom Hardy Steps Into Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy Role

Tom Hardy is to replace Michael Fassbender in new Le Carré adaptation Monday, September 6th 2010 | 11:44:59

We have been watching avidly for news on director Tomas Alfredson's latest film, with more exciting names added to the cast list by the day. And according to Slashfilm , it now seems Michael Fassbender will be too busy shooting X-Men: First Class to be involved in the project, but Tom Hardy is more than a worthy replacement as hislead.

Hardy will join Ciarán Hinds, Colin Firth and Jared Harris in the new adaptation from Alfredson of John Le Carré novel Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy , with Gary Oldman starring as Cold war agent George Smiley, working to uncover a mole in the UK secret service. The thriller, scripted by Peter Morgan is due to start shooting in London over the next few weeks.

Though Hardy is a relative new kid on the block, he'll fit in well with the cast and what with Mad Max IV: Fury Road filming starting next year, we are happy he accepted the role.

Did Alfredson let the right one in? We think so, let us know what you think below.
