Robin Hood Confirmed To Open Cannes

Ridley Scott's historical epic gets the honour... We love it when we're right! Friday, March 26th 2010 | 12:13:32

As we predicted a while back, it has now been confirmed that Ridley Scott's Robin Hood will indeed be the opening movie at this year's Cannes Film Festival.

The cinephile shindig will kick off on May 12 with the first public screening of Mr Scott's "historical" take on the Sherwood Forest legend - just two days ahead of the UK and US release date.

There's no word on who and what else will be showing during the festival's two-week run, although it would seem a fair bet that Woody Allen's You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger, Oliver Stone's Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps and Bruce Robinson's The Rum Diary will get an airing.
