Rami Malek Cast In The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn

Whether or not you give a flying squirrel monkey about the never-ending Twilight saga, the following news should be of some interest to fans of The Pacific at least.

According to Slash Film, , aka the crazy eyed Merriell "Snafu" Shelton from HBO's excellent World War II mini-series, has signed up to play a character called Benjamin, one of the Egyptian coven of vampires, in the final installment of the vampire/werewolf/human love triangle better known as Breaking Dawn.

According an online explanation: "Benjamin, the mate of Tia, has a high awareness of what is right and wrong, and his special ability is to control the elements of nature, air, earth, fire, and water. Benjamin's ability is unique in that it involves physical manipulation, as opposed to illusions of the mind."

We honestly think this is great news for the Twilight Saga as Malek is one of the best character actors out there and a suitably haunted choice to play a relatively minor but important character.
