For their next trick, Pixar will make the cast of their 2006 film Cars return for a summer Sequel for which they have now released some new photos and a short video clip over on Empire.
Owen Wilson returns as top race car Lightning McQueen. Then there's Tow Mater (Larry The Cable Guy), Mack (Pixar’s very own John Ratzenberger), Luigi (Tony Shalhoub), Guido (Guido Quaroni), Sarge (Paul Dooley) and originally voiced by the late George Carlin, VW van Fillmore.
An array of new characters will also be joing the old familiar ones for this installment which sees the gang jet-setting around the World to compete in a series of races, going head to head with some of the best racers in the business. If this wasn’t thrilling enough they then find themselves caught up in an international spy operation.
Pixar’s vice President, John Lasseter is the director along with Brad Lewis and we hope the film will live up to Pixar's usual high standards as the original Cars was one of their weakest films, but considering their recent winning streak with fantastic WALL·E, Up and Toy Story 3 we’re sure their success will continue with Cars 2 which will be roaring onto our screens on the 22nd July
