Here's a new image - direct from the folks at Universal - of R&B singer Rihanna in director Peter Berg's Battleship, ahead of her performance at tomorrow night's Brit Awards. She plays US Navy officer Raikes in the epic action-adventure which is set for release in UK cinemas on April 11th.
Battleship also stars Taylor Kitsch, Brooklyn Decker, Alexander Skarsgård and Liam Neeson, and tells the story of an international Navy fleet engaged in a very dynamic and intense battle against an alien race is known as "The Regents". The aliens come to planet Earth, on a mission to build a power source in the ocean. Upon their visit, they come in contact with a navy fleet....
Based on Hasbro's classic naval combat game, Battleship stars Taylor Kitsch as Lt. Alex Hopper, a Naval officer assigned to the USS John Paul Jones; Brooklyn Decker as Sam Shane, a physical therapist and Hopper's fiancée; Alexander Skarsgård as Hopper's older brother, Stone, Commanding Officer of the USS Sampson; Rihanna as Petty Officer Raikes, Hopper's crewmate and a weapons specialist on the USS John Paul Jones; and international superstar Liam Neeson as Hopper and Stone's superior (and Sam's father), Admiral Shane.
