So it may have been circulating on the internet for a few days but we can now officially confirm that Mad Mel has won the highly coveted cameo role in The Hangover 2 ! Sorry if we spoilt it for you but as Mel Gibson could use any good news he can get at the moment so we thought we’d spread the word.
The troubled star who was dropped by the William Morris Endeavor agency in July and faces allegations that he assaulted and made threats against his ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, has signed to play a Bangkok tattooist in the highly anticipated comedy. The film which has already started shooting in Thailand, will see the return of the male leads Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis and Justin Bartha. We still can't reveal the plot line, though last time we heard from the cast Ed Helms said 'I think we would go take a submarine to Atlantis, and live with people that are half-person, half-sea horse. I’d probably hook up with Ariel the little mermaid – because she’s really hot, let’s face it. And there would probably be a little Caribbean crab that sang calypso songs'.... and that's why he's just an actor.
Whether the old Braveheart star can live up to Mike Tyson's Phil Collins-singing and casual fist slinging role in the first film, is open to discussion, Gibson must certainly be hoping he can change the direction of his downwards spiraling career.
