Gore Verbinksi’s Rango Trailer Hits The Web

Its Karma Chameleon for Johnny Depp… Wednesday, December 15th 2010 | 12:21:35

After some initial clips to sustain us for Gore Verbinski's animated feature Rango, the first full trailer has arrived via Yahoo Movies.

Johnny Depp voices the lead character, a bumbling chameloen with a thing for hawaiian shirts who has always dreamed of becoming more. One day, after accidentally killing a hawk that was hunting him he is hailed a hero by the people of Dirt and made Sheriff. What seems like a dream come true turns into more of a nightmare when he is expected to take on the villanous creatures that plague the town, but after swearing to protect them he puts his all into proving himself worthy of his badge.

With an impressive cast including the voices of Bill Nighy, Isla Fisher, Abigail Breslin, Alfred Molina and Ray Winstone, it looks like a lot of fun and doesn’t seem to take itself too seriously. There’s also some nice looking animation to enjoy and we also get a chance to see what Johnny would look like in chameleon form (in case anyone was curious about that).
