Chloe Moretz is in line to star in Karyn Kusama's new film The Rut, according to the LA Times.
This has been a busy year for Moretz, as she is currently in London filming Hugo Cabret with Martin Scorsese, and has also signed up to star in Hick, a story of a girl having to grow up fast, as well as The Devil And The Deep Blue Sea.
The Rut centres on a daughter who has to use the hunting and archery skills that her father taught her after he goes missing. Wait a minute...wasn't there another film about a young action-heroine that has to go and rescue her father? Didn't it Kick-Ass?
If this story is substantiated, let's hope that this is a good move for the 13 year-old actress. Kusama has not had much success since her debut indie hit Girlfight, which starred Michelle Rodriguez. Her latest offering, Jennifer's Body, was not received well (the star, Megan Fox, won the Razzie for worst actress), and Aeon Flux before that was a bit of a disaster. She is, however, a relatively inexperienced director, and so we're definitely not writing her off just yet. She just needs to get out of the Rut she's in, that's all.
