The plundering of my childhood favourites continues with news that the oft-rumoured Police Academy remake is back on track as Deadline report that New Line are moving full steam ahead on the film and have named the director with enough balls to try and re-create one of the 80s biggest comedy franchises. Apparently Scott Zabielski will be in the directors chair for what is actually his first feature film. However Zabielski isn't a total rookie when it comes to making the funnies - he previously worked on the well-recieved Comedy Central show Tosh.O.
No other news is forthcoming, I just hope that New Line can make a little room for the original cast somewhere, even if it is just a brief cameo...
