The King's Speech
- Synopsis
King George V's second son, Prince Albert, was never supposed to inherit the throne. Shy, introverted compared to his flamboyant older brother, he was also afflicted with a nervous stammer which, despite the best efforts of numerous physicians and therapists, persisted in making his public appearances a nightmare. But when Albert is introduced to an eccentric Australian speech therapist whose lack of regard for royal protocol begins to show results he finds himself growing into the role thrust upon him following his brother, now Edward VII's sudden abdication.
